Aries

Aries is a celestial beast that resembles an enormous ram with fiery red fur and large curled horns. It rarely appears on this plane. When sighted, it is most often on rocky mountain passes or in vast canyons. When provoked, flames ignite from its horns. Born from the celestial fires of the sun, it is immune to all fire damage.

Charge. If Aries moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a target and then hits it with a ram attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 8 (2d4) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 19 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Illumination. Aries sheds bright light in a 60-foot radius and dim light in an additional 30 feet when its horns are ignited.

Magic Resistance. Aries has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Relentless (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If Aries takes 21 damage or less that would reduce it to 0 hit points, it is reduced to 1 hit point instead.

Fire Aura. At the start of each of Aries’s turns, each creature within 15 feet of him takes 20 (5d6) fire damage, and flammable objects in the aura that aren’t being worn or carried ignite. A creature also takes 20 (5d6) fire damage if it touches Aries or hits him with a melee attack while within 10 feet of him, and a creature takes that damage the first time on a turn that Aries moves into its space. Nonmagical weapons that hit Aries are destroyed by fire immediately after dealing damage to him.

Siege Monster. Aries deals double damage to objects and structures.

Innate Spellcasting. Aries’s spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 20). Aries can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: Daylight, Flaming Sphere, Beacon of Hope

(3/Day): Gate, Flame Strike, Incendiary Cloud

(1/Day): Sunburst, Meteor Swarm, Fire Storm

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Aries fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. Aries makes two attacks: one with a ram attack and one with its hooves.

Ram. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 57 (5d10 + 30) bludgeoning damage.

Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 69 (6d10 + 36) bludgeoning damage.

Fire Snort (Recharge 5-6). Aries exhales bursts of flames from its nostrils in a 5-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw, taking 5d8 fire damage on failed save.

Teleport. Aries magically teleports up to 120 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.

Legendary Actions

Aries can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Aries regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Hooves. Aries makes one attack with its hooves.

Teleport. Aries uses its Teleport action.

Fire Snort. Aries makes one attack of blowing flames from its nostrils.

Features

Traveler Between Planes:

Aries is a celestial demigod who can travel between planes. He very rarely appears on the Material Plane, but he will manifest himself there when he is summoned or when he senses injustice.

Celestial Gift:

Aries has a strong sense of justice and believes in those who protect the weak and innocent. He will bestow a Beacon of Hope to those who’s alignment is good and he deems worthy.

Hot-Tempered:

Aries is normally a benevolent demigod unless he is provoked. When he senses injustice or is attacked, Aries becomes extremely aggressive and will seek to destroy those who have caused the injustice or are pursuing him. He is not likely to forgive a creature once it has wronged him.
